Era Polymers & REACH - EU Regulation EC 1907/2006
REACH is a European Community Regulation (EC 1907/2006) for chemicals and their safe use, which came into force on 1st June 2007.
The main aim of REACH the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances; is to ensure risks associated with chemical substances are managed consistently throughout the EU (European Union) improving the protection of human health and the environment by better and earlier identification of chemical substances.
REACH means the chemical industry are taking a great responsibility for assessing and managing the risks associated with the chemicals they supply, where possible substitutions of the most dangerous chemicals should be made where suitable safer alternatives have been identified.
Under REACH legislation Era Polymers is classified as a “Non Community Manufacturer” who is exporting a substance into the EU market. That is the majority of the substances produced by Era Polymers and exported into the EU market are classified under REACH as polymers so do not need to be registered/pre registered. However, monomers which are used in the manufacture of some of Era Polymers substances require registration.
Era Polymers is working in conjunction with “The REACH Centre” Lancaster, UK www.thereachcentre.com to ensure all relevant substances are pre registered/registered to meet the necessary REACH legislation and deadlines. Should you require REACH documentation, or information with regard to an Era Polymers product we will happily put you in touch with our “Only Representative” in the EU for the product of interest.
Era Polymers are committed to producing high quality products that are safe for human health and the environment, while conforming to all necessary legislation.
